1950's Electromatic Student Lap Steel...NEED HELP I recently came into a very old Gretsch Lap Steel. I believe it to be either '58 or '59. I also believe it is a Student model. It has a beige pearloid cover and tapered neck. The serial number on the guitar is V30462. The problem is I can find info about vintage Gretsch electrics but not much about lap steels. According to the Gretsch website models in the 30000's are dated to 58 and 59. But these are only for electric and hollowbody's. They have specific s/n on the site also but I has not been able to find the specific s/n that this lap steel has. I am just looking for some information about this unique item. Does anyone have any info regarding this item. I would like to sell this to a collector since it is not so much of a players item. Any ideas on a price tag I should put on this guy?

A bit more info... It turns out it was in 1950. The serial number matches one I found Valco/Supro It has a "Gretsch Electromatic" plate on the headstock and I was wondering does selling price matter since most of the lap steels were made by the same company/companies? Does having "Gretsch" on the instrument make it worth more?
