baritone! TvClassic Neck, ???? Bridge recently i started a telecaster solid body project and got a TVClassic neck pickup..
the build fell through and i am stuck with the pickup, so i decided to build a baritone.
What should i choose for the bridge position in my new solid body baritone project?
i want something with a little more bite, little more volume, less of a shrill tone. but still retaining clarity.
i'm typically a neck pickup player, so when i switch to my bridge pups, they're ALWAYS lacking in body due to how i EQ my amp. I should add that i play LOUD, with lots of effects, and i occasionally like to get a good crispy overdrive out of my bridge position.
what do you all suggest?

Check out the Powertrons, the bridge is beefier than the Classic (especially the plus) and they have NO trouble getting some grind out of an amp. I have a jet with a Magnatron in the bridge and a Powertron plus in the bridge and if i dial in the neck to barely break up the amp (uppers) and switch to the bridge i get a nice, defined overdrive.
Check out the sound samples and listen to them side by side. They did a good job of giving us a clear comparison using the same instruments and amp settings for each pickup demo, you can really hear the differences in output and tone on decent speakers.

i like the sound of the powertron.
but i'm torn between that, and the supertron. i'm loving the supertron tones a bunch in those sound files.
sure it's not as beefy and midrangey... but it still sounds great.
anyone have experience with the supertrons?
i'll probably install my regular gretsch filtertron into the bridge until i decide between the super and powertron.
thanks for the reply
