Care and feeding of Nickel Plating.
I figured that since a number of folks get at least one Classic to go with whatever else they end up with on their guitars; that this would be a good place to post this. I'm a great fan of chrome plating on most of my stuff, but I was thinkin' that nickel plating would visually blend better with the gold surrounds I'll be using around my new pups, and the gold painted pickguard and the aluminum Bigsby on my Gretsch 5120. I know how to take care of chrome...everybody does! But I'm really not sure how to properly care for nickel plating. I don't necessarily want it to shine like the Sun or anything like that. I just want it to not look pitted or rusty too quickly.

Well; I may not know anything more about caring for Nickel plating, but one thing for sure; I sure am happy with the nickel plated Classics in my 5120 with the Gold pup surround rings! The color of them is just far enough between Chrome and Gold to not clash with the Gold on the rings, plus they have enough reflectivity to reflect the gold of the rings and they come off really looking sharp! Cool stuff indeed! Oh;...and they sound great too!
