darnright's new "Jonescaster" Tele! Awesome
Dave (darnright) asked me to post the pics of his new Jonescaster for him cause he doesn't know exactly how to post them. From his first e-mail to me: "My Jonescaster is done!! They sound absolutely awesome. I added the treble bleed and that works good as well. I mean I get all the bite of a tele and all this monster growl as well. The neck pup might even prove to be more awesome! Clean, mild or wild...these pickups sound great. I cut out a color TVJones ad from a mag and glued it on my headstock (strat neck), then cleared it...looks great! So I have a totally non-official TVJones Tele (Jonescaster)" And from his e-mail today: "It's a tele with a strat neck, CTS pots, Switchcraft switch and jack, and TVJones pups and bridge plate. It bites like a Tele and growls like a Les Paul. Truly some of the most versatile pups I have ever played. Took an ordinary guitar and made it into a monster!!" Anyways, I'll let the pics talk for themselves: Good job Dave! Congrats, it looks awesome.

Thanks Big Al, for posting those for me. I am very proud of this guitar. I think it looks good, but it really is a sound monster. I kept every bit of Tele bite and it growls like a Les Paul. I think my favorite thing about these pups soundwise is, they stay so clear, every note rings out whether you're playing spanky-tele licks or roaring through some heavy rock! I thank you Mr.Jones for making these and for all your help. You guys are the best!! -dave

And what type of TV's do you put in there? I'm thinking about doing the same thing to my Tele

Actually I ask Tom for suggestions. He suggested the Power-trons for both bridge and neck. I don't think any other pickup would have been as good. I definitly recomend changing pots, cap, switch and jack. Tom also suggested the treble bleed and that works great. I am SO very happy with this. Thanks for asking. -dave

Next question.....did you use a template to route out the neck PU or did you use a pickguard with a humbucker pocket already in it?

darnright- 02-22-2008

I actually got templates from Tom at TVJones. Perfect fit, and it was the first time I had ever used a router. I will be back to get more pups, they really are as good as it gets. -dave

What do I do to get my nice Gretsch pictures on this site Kind regards from Jimmy Denmark I'm sorry but I don't know. If you'll notice the post of mine, I had a friend of mine post them for me. You might start a thread with that title and I'm sure someone will step up and explain it to you...and me. -dave
