Dual treble bleeds, whaddya say? First post here, howdy doody. I won't bore the masses with an introduction so I'll jump straight to my question. I'm spec'ing out a "booteek" semi hollow and I'm leaning heavily towards Magnatrons for that SC spank. I'm 95% sure of Magnas BUT there's something else I can help but be curious of...
What if, I were to put a treble bleed on both the neck and bridge volumes (there'll be no master volume btw)? I'm one of those fellers that doesn't usually like much if any tone change with a drop in the guitar volume; if I want the tone darker I'll roll off the tone knob. Speaking of tone controls, I'd like the tone to have a really wide sweep, almost like a wah but not quite. Is there a way to do this? I hope the bridge pup won't thin out too much, then I'd be left with just a treble bleed for just the neck. The curiosity is eating away at me so I do believe I'll have to quench that curiosity, but I figured I'd ask around anyways. If Mr. Jones is reading this, would you recommend the stock cap & resistor values or do you think some different values might work better?

I think you should put the treble bleed mod on both personally, especially with the Magnas. They're great pups by the way.
For your other two questions, I really don't know.
But welcome to the forums! Good luck dude.

Hi,
I recommend a resistor in parallel with the capacitor. The resistor will fill up the tone with a little more warmth and lengthen the taper of the pot.
Hook up some -*test*-('") leads and turn the volume down to 3-4, connect and disconnect the resistor. I notice a change.
Try a .001 uF cap and a 150K res on 500K audio pots. Try a .003 uF to .005 uF for more emphasis on higher mids.
Treble bleeds on both pots will work fine.
Thanks,
TV Jones
