Dynatron mount WITH ENCLOSURE (please?)
Hello there, Mr TV! And congrats with the new user forum. Looks cool! I have a Gretsch Country Club with Dynasonics, and sometimes I feel I would like to have another pickup in the bridge position. The Dyna in the neck position feels absolutely great for clean jazz and is basically just a great sounding pickup in that position. But in the bridge position, I sometimes feel I need a bit more "rock". Especially with the hollow body, the Dyna gets really nasty and twangy, but sometimes a bit too gritty for my taste. I'd like a bit more compression. A Powertron in a Dynatron mount seems to be the obvious choice... Please correct me if I'm wrong, but in the current Dynatron mount, you have to use your own Dynasonic enclosure to fit the TV jones PU in, right? If I buy your pickup and install the thing, I'm stuck with a perfectly good sounding Dyna without the housing to mount it in anything else... While I was thinking to put it in a Telecaster-project... Any chance you might offer the Dynatron mount with a housing? (please, also in gold version??) Thanks!

We will offer the DeArmond / Dynasonic pickup cover in the near future. For now I would try a TV Classic or TV Classic Plus in the bridge position. The Power'tron assembly is taller than the TV Classic and Classic Plus assemblies and may be too tall for guitars with a lower neck angle. Thanks, TV Jones Oct. 16 2007

I just checked the dimensions charts on your site: The Powertron seems to have the same height as the Classic? (3/4" bridge and 5/8" neck) I must be missing something here...

We are able to make the TV Classic bridge shorter by not using shims under the bobbins, but with the Power'tron bridge the bobbins are 1/8" taller. ( to hold more magnet wire) It must be tall. Sometimes too tall for the Dyna'tron mount. Some guitars have a low neck angle keeping the strings closer to the body which gives you less clearance. Thanks, TV Jones Oct. 17 2007

Thanks, TV Jones May 13, 2008 Thanks for your reply - I wondered when you say "very soon" how soon are we talking ? - few weeks, months or the end of the year ? I have been doing some digging around and discovered that its possible to purchase the chrome covers from the custom shop at Seymour Duncan but with not being 100% certain that they will fit your powertrons I am a little hesitant to buy from them. If theres anyway you could make an exception (maybe you have a couple of demo units that you wanted to sell) then I would be very interested. I would be more than happy to take some pictures / write up the process for your website if your interested. It also means that I cant do the upgrade (and cant buy the powertrons from you) until they are available thanks mark.carline@btinternet.com
