English Mount for Pro Jet Hi There,
I own a Gretsch Pro Jet and actually like the sound of my pickups. They are low output, but the sound is pretty smooth and suits the way I play. I've looked into Power-trons which would probably make a lot of sense, but right now it's not an option. However, I'm not crazy with the way the pickups sit in the guitar, although they look nice (TV designed covers), I don't know why pickup surrounds weren't used. As they are, it makes the guitar look unfinished. That brings me to the English Mount. Will the English Mount work with mini-humbuckers? I checked the TVJ site and the dimensions and they look as if they would, but still... Anyway, I like the way they look and I'm sure they would improve the look of the guitar immensely.

I think it should work fine, but you should check, recheck, and triple check the dimensions to make sure. That will vastly improve the look of the guitar though! Pro Jets are awesome!
Good luck bro

Hi,
i put the classic trons into my Projet and the standart PU rings.
Must be enough space for holes and screws.
in my opinion there`s no need for the english mount system.
the only problem was the neck-ring. it fit not, you have to grind away a little bit. (because of the Neck dimension)

The Pro Jet is the most difficult of all the Electromatics to modify.
I have noticed some Pro Jets with shallow pickup cavities.
We will post a bunch of photos and a video showing how it's done
in the near future.
I recommend a set of standard mount pickups with no ears, short pole screws, and standard Gretsch surrounds.
Thanks,
TV Jones
