Gibson ES-135 Question
I currently have a Gibson ES-135. It came with P-90-style pickups (could be P-100's) and the person who had it before me changed out the trapeze tailpiece for a Bigsby trem. All in all a pretty cool guitar but I’m kind of unexcited by the sound of the pickups. I am looking at TV Classics (or maybe a TV Classic in the neck position and a TV Classic Plus in the bridge) using the P-Tron mounting option. Does anyone have any input on this? Has anyone heard this pickup combo in a guitar like mine? If I go this route do I need to look at changing out the volume and tone pots to 500k ohm units? Is the treble bypass something worth pursuing or is that only recommended for the brighter sounding Tele’s out there? Thanks in advance for any input.

I have the same idea. I would love to swap out the stock p-100 pick up for a classic pickup with p'tron mount. But as I compare the pictures with my stock pick up the mounting screws seem to be in a different place. That is they seem to be more in the center than on the outsides. Can anyone please tell me if I'm seeing this correctly before i order them. In response to the earlier post. As the 135 comes with p-100 pickups, which are effectively humbuckers, Chances are you already have 500k pots. I've never checked but it would be the gibson thing to do ;)
