hotter pickups?
Not just the first post in a forum, but first ever post. See, I had a life as a professional musician, but now I want to throw it all away and sit in front of a computer all day until my brain has the consistency of congealed chicken fat. Okay: Having returned to Gretsch world after a decades-long lapse, my years of using active pickups makes me want the power, the way they hit the front end of an amp. I want the Gretsch sound, only louder. I alternate with slide on an EMG-active tele, and I don't want to be turning up the amp when going to the Gretsch (rented backline, usually a damn new Twin). I can also employ a pedal for a clean boost, but would rather not. Anyone know of someone hot rodding Gretsch pickups? Any ideas appreciated. sambroussard
