Good deal. You're talking about the TV Tron Classics, right? They should sound awesome, I just put a Classic in the neck of my Duo Jet, and it sounds fantastic. I've been playing Setzer for about a week straight through this beautiful little 'rig' I've got going. Simple for sure, but beautiful. Good luck at the hardware store! Seems to me the screws were too big for the Supertron, I needed to get new ones too, I believe. Good luck!

thanx... I keep mine simple too, a tube amp and an echo pedal thats it....

bigalthethird- 01-14-2008

I've got some pedals, but they never end up getting used much. I like the ones I have now, so they haven't gotten sold, but of the 20 or so I've owned, I only have 4 left (chorus, echo/delay, overdrive and wah). So usually, my 'rig' is Guitar>Cord>Amp. I rather like it that way.

mines the same haha

What's up guys? So about a month ago, I finally ordered my English mount surround for the bridge. The Supertron came a year ago with a Les Paul style surround, before Mr. Jones made the Gretsch style surrounds. It came today, yay! :D So a few hours later, I finally had the darn thing on and looking good. Upcoming changes, in order(ish): Gonna change the neck pickup and ring to match the bridge (the original pup and ring are still in there) Gonna change the knobs (the white bells are placeholders) Gonna change the switch and tip And then getting the neck completely rebuilt (truss rod, fretboard - ebony, frets). Anyways, on to pics! The bridge is slightly crooked in this pic, but I've since fixed it: Decent pic: And my favorite pic, I really can't get the TV Jones logo to show up but it's no big deal I suppose: Well there you have it! I'll be posting the next update in a few months whether you all like it or not. 8) Thanks a bunch!

pretty sweet, im making slow progress with mine, just got it painted and back from the tattoo shop

bigalthethird- 02-20-2008

Thank you very much! What kinda of finish and tattoo did you get applied? That sounds pretty friggin sweet I gotta say. I think my significant other would just die if I 'tattooed' or decal'd this guitar, but I'm in the process of "pin-up-ing" my Duo Jet. :)

Doc Helliday- 02-27-2008

this chick that tattoo's at a shop called redline in hollywood put Grench on the bottom of my guitar(left and right of the Bigsby) and the letters are all made out of bats flying out of the darkness...i love it

bigalthethird- 02-28-2008

Wow that sounds incredible! Any way you can post pics?

Yep that's pretty friggin badass! Good going with that. What is that guitar exactly? Very cool.

Doc Helliday- 03-01-2008

Thank you, thank you very much, lol. Its an Epiphone Dot Studio... Now all I have to do is clearcoat it with some poly(my friend was warning me about not using too much or the design will run...... do you know anything about clear-coating?

bigalthethird- 03-20-2008

No I sure don't, sorry! Wish I did though. You should check out http://reranch.com/ for help. In Green Buddy news, I'm dropping it off tomorrow to get the neck rebuilt! New truss rod, the wood will be strengthened, new Ebony fretboard, mother of pearl inlays, and the biggest frets he's got. Can't wait! It's been 2 years waiting to find a good builder, and I found him. Not charging me too much at all either - many builders were quoting $1,000 or near there. He's coming in far lower than that. Tomorrow's gonna be a good day. :) http://www.ristguitars.com/

thank you for the links I liked alot of those colours...(uh oh) lol You must tell me how that guitar comes out!

bigalthethird- 03-22-2008

Thanks dude! They have a lot of cool colors. Not only that, they sell the colors so you can do it yourself! And thanks for your comments about my guitar. Dropped it off, and it's gonna come out great. What a super nice guy! He knows his stuff too, you can just tell. Good news - the neck is solid maple. That was good for both of us, it'll be sturdy enough to strengthen and rebuild. So yeah, I'm pretty stoked. He's putting the biggest frets he's got on, which makes me happy. And the mother of pearl on ebony is just gonna look sick. I'll be sure to post pics when I get it back in a month or so.
