Pickups on a G5135 Electromatic Corvette upgrade Power'Tron?
I might soon be getting one of these guitars: G5135 Electromatic Corvette http://www.gretschguitars.com/gear/index.php?product=G5135&cat1=&cat2=&q=&st=1 and the blurb for this guitar says that it has the following pickups: "Two Mega'Tronª Pickups" When you look closer at these picksup they seem to bear a close resembelance to the ones on the following guitar: G6199 "Billy-Bo" Jupiter Thunderbird http://www.gretschguitars.com/gear/index.php?product=G6199&cat1=&cat2=&q=&st=1 which are the "Power'Tron" picksups as follows: http://www.tvjones.com/pickups/powertron.htm I wondered: 1) Are these TV Jones designed picksup on the G5135 ? 2) Could they be upgraded on the G5135 to the Power'Tron ones ? 3) Is it worth it ? (i love the sound of the Billy-Bo) Mark
