"HiLoCaster" and Strat with T.V. Jones pickups... Hi everyone,
This is a Tele I built based around a pair of Tom's "TV-HT"s...here are the specs:
-Fender Old Lake Placid Blue double-bound '62 RI body
-Fender '62 RI neck
-Two T.V. Jones HiLo'Tron pickups with Gretsch pickup surrounds
-An original Gretsch B5 Bigsby
-A 'half-cut' original '73 Fender Tele bridge
-Electrosocket Jack Plate
-Two real Gretsch "G-arrow" knobs
Here's one I put together back in 2004...it's since morphed into another setup, but here's what it looked like with a set of three "TV Classics" in it:
Oh, yeah...I forgot I had photos of where the three "TV Classics" shown above ended up...two of them are now in this highly-modded Gretsch Electromatic, which , in addition to the new pickups, has CTS and Switchcraft components and Gotoh tuners, etc.. Here's how it came out:
...the other Classic is in this Tele:
-Fender sunburst double-bound '62 RI body
-Authentic 1973 Fender maple neck
-An early '70s Gibson humbucker (with "Gibson" embossed on pickup cover) in the neck, a T.V. Jones HiLo'Tron pickup in the middle, and a new Joe Barden Tele pickup in the bridge. Since they're all humbuckers, they work beautifully together.
-A Fender "F" B5 Bigsby
-A custom-designed bridge, where I used the adjustable plate with three brass barrels instead of six saddles.
-Electrosocket Jack Plate
-5-way Strat switch
-Volume, Blend (blends neck and bridge pickups) and Tone controls.
-Abalone-topped knobs.
