Tone Pot circuit dragging down treble?
I have a Tone Pot Wiring harness on my Gretsch 5120 and I was reading that even when the pot is set to max, there is still some reaction to the cap that's wired from the pot to ground shunting off a bit of the highs. Enough to actually be heard? I wonder? And I wonder if that's part of the reason that Gretsch(generally)went to the Mud Switch circuit when they introduced the FilterTrons, but(generally)kept the Tone Pot harness configuration for their single-coil models?
