TV Jones Knobs fit standard Gretsch Pots?
Hi, About 2 years ago, I purchased a stunning Gretsch G6129TL (Blue Pearl Jet) - Fantastic Axe. However, all the shiny chrome knobs are corroding, along with the pickups. Only dampness has been sweat and a some night air from 4 or 5 outdoors night gigs. So, to pretty her up a again, I got some new Nickel Knobs from TV Jones along with New pickups etc as I'm thinking it is just crappy chrome, and nickel plating would be better (Machine heads haven't corroded at all). Ok all good! Except that the Knobs are way too big for the Pot shafts &^%#^&, so my question is : are there any sleeves I can use inside the knobs? or are there Pots with thicker shafts? The ones in this look the same as the standard CTS pots. They are split shaft pots. Also the Pickup Switchtip from TVJones also does not fit on the Gretsch Switch. Any suggestions please?? Steve :?

I think I've got mini pots in my Duo Jet, you might too. I really don't know much past that, but that might help you. And I don't understand why the switch tip doesn't fit, maybe you should e-mail Gretsch up? They're pretty helpful folks. Sorry this post sucks! Good luck though. :)

OK, Thanks. Well I have the answer finally. Was hoping TVJones might weighin. The Gretsch pots have split posts which are smaller than the internal diameter of the TVJones knobs. The switch must also be a similar issue. So as I am replacing the pups with TVJones pups, I will also replace my pots with solid shafts. And hope the TVJones gear doesn't corrode so quickly. So headsup if you are gonna replace your Gretsch knobs with TVJones ones, you need SS pots. Cheers
