What PU with a JB in the bridge?
Hi there, I am looking for a "no mud" neck PU to put in the neck slot of a LP copy. I have a duncan JB in the bridge, which I really like, the middle position is quite funky, so I like it, but the neck PU on its own is dull, dark and somewhat muddy. I know the JB+Jazz is a reputable combo, but I would like something a little less "mainstream" (Plus TV Joneses in an English mount look plain gorgeous). I am thinking of a TV classic in the neck but do not know whether it would balance well with the JB (read 16,4k). Should I try a classic plus or a powertron in the neck position? Please note that I use the neck PU for clean to mild crunch only, and do not care for woman tone. And I want to retain a good middle position (both PU) for funky guitar parts (yeah I know, funk with a LP? You betcha!) Thanks for your time! Stéphane
